The industry's main blade supplier, LM Glasfiber of Denmark, is investing around DKK 170 million in a new blade factory in northern Poland. At 2044 square metres it will be the company's largest factory to date, producing its latest generation of blades measuring 50 metres and more for supply to northern and central Europe and to the offshore market. Employing 200-300 staff in the initial phase, production at the factory is expected to start in 2004. LM Glasfiber has already expanded its operation in China this year, opening a new factory 90 kilometres from Beijing in April, while in Denmark it is adding 5400 square metres to its existing production capacity located in Lunderskov.
