Generation game as WindWelt acquires stock

In a move to rationalise its wind and solar activities, WindWelt, a publicly traded wind energy development company, is to acquire the 10% stake in turbine manufacturer Fuhrländer held by SolarWorld. SolarWorld owns 80% of WindWelt and will sell its 10% of Fuhrländer to WindWelt for EUR 2 million. Both WindWelt and SolarWorld are based in Bonn. WindWelt and Fuhrländer co-operate closely. The two have a framework contract for the supply by Fuhrländer of 68 MW of wind plant by 2003. The deal is for 35, 1.5 MW turbines and 15 1 MW machines.
