Vestas buys supplier
1 May 1999
Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S has bought a majority share of one of its suppliers, Danish Cotas Computer Technology A/S, for an undisclosed price. Cotas has developed electronic hardware and software for Vestas wind turbine controllers for more than ten years. In 1998, Cotas had turnover of about DKK 75 million (EUR 10.1 million), with DKK 4 million in profits after tax. Cotas will continue to operate without change in structure or personnel and to supply other companies. "It is important to us to keep the very qualified employees and the research and development activities at a high level," says Vestas' Johannes Poulsen.
