Vestas opens Singapore R&D centre

Danish turbine supplier Vestas has opened its Asia research and development (R&D) centre at Fusionopolis in Singapore, marking the first milestone in the company's ten-year plan to invest up to SGD 500 million (EUR 256.27 million) in Singapore to advance research in wind power technologies. By the end of this month, the centre will house over 100 researchers and engineers from 16 nationalities, says Vestas. This is set to rise to around 150 engineers in 2009, doubling to over 300 R&D engineers by 2012.
