Wind second largest renewable

Wind power has become Germany's second largest renewable energy contributor, covering 0.6% of the country's electricity demand in 1997. It has overtaken landfill gas facilities, which cover 0.5% of the market. Hydro remains on top with 3.5%, reports utility association Vereinigung Deutscher Elektrizitätswerke. Biomass contributed 0.2% while photovoltaic is still a minuscule player with a 0.002% share.
