Short bankruptcy

Genvind, one of Denmark's smallest wind turbine producers, was forced out of business last month. But, true to form in the Danish wind industry, the firm was partially back on its feet within days. Genvind lost some of its major shareholders to Wind World earlier this year when Wind World restructured (Windpower Monthly, September 1997). Sven Irgens-Møller, Genvind's founder, continued business, but the ten small wind turbines so far supplied by the company suffered gear and yaw problems, forcing the company's closure. Meantime, a second firm owned by Irgens-Møller, Demovind Aps, has bought the rights to Genvind turbines and all stockpiled inventory. It intends to continue Genvind's business.
