Enron expands production capacity in Germany

Enron Wind Deutschland is expanding its production capacity in Germany. A new production and administration building covering an area of 18,000 square metres is being built, with more than four times the space of the existing 4400 square metres at Salzbergen, just one kilometre away. "Our order books are full and with existing capacity we can produce only 30 turbines a week. The new facility will allow us to double our productivity and build next generation machines beyond 2 MW in size," says managing director Andreas Reuter. Enron is investing DEM 32 million in the new facility, which should start production in the summer. The administration building, to house some 650 people, will be ready about three months later.
