Germany's Red Project Management takes international steps
1 February 2002
Red Project Management, a joint venture founded by DeWind and MVV Energie, has completed its first wind station in Germany and expects to move ahead this year with projects at home as well as in Ireland, Poland and France. The new wind station, consisting of two DeWind 600 kW turbines, is at Retzstadt near Würzburg. By March Red will have another six DeWind 1.25 MW machines operating at a site near Unna in North Rhine Westphalia. This will be followed by 15 turbines in several smaller projects in Hesse. In Ireland, Red has construction permits for a 15 MW wind station in County Cavan and for a 5 MW station in County Donnegal -- but has yet to secure project financing," says Dietich Meyer. It hopes to have the County Cavan project, using DeWind 1.25 MW machines, on-line by September. Red has several projects under development in France, working with its co-operation partner, heating and energy company Sare, based in Loreol, south of Valence. Elsewhere, Red's Polish subsidiary, Red Polska, officially began business in Warsaw in December to pursue opportunities in the Polish wind market.
