Maharashtra state confirms new wind tariff

The state of Maharashtra, which has been without a renewables policy for the past eight months, is expected to confirm a new wind tariff soon. The purchase price is likely to be around INR 3.32/kWh -- in line with guidelines published by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources -- with an additional INR 1/kWh for a ten year period, as recommended by the state. The tariff order is currently out to public consultation, after which a technical validation will be carried out. This is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
