Former naval site to have wind turbines installed

A little-known Native American wind company -- with what it describes as a revolutionary cylindrical turbine design -- wants to buy two former naval sites near San Francisco and install wind turbines on them, it has been revealed. Windwalker of Washington DC says it would raise $2.5 billion in stock and employ 2500 people. Company officials toured Mare Island Naval Shipyard earlier this year. The improbable plan did not overly impress local planners who joined Windwalker representatives on the site visit. They politely described the plan as "very preliminary."
