Plans for country's largest plant yet

Croatian company Koncar-Inzenjering has engineered a 1 MW turbine that it intends to install in September as the first turbine of what will become Croatia's largest wind plant, assuming all necessary planning consents can be obtained. The machine, with up to 65% of its components manufactured locally, is one of 15 destined for a site above the Adriatic resort of Split by September 2007 at an estimated cost of around EUR 16.5 million. The project is Koncar's first wind venture and Croatia's third wind farm.
