Five wind bids totalling 305 MW were received by the utility Montana Power Co (MPC) in response to a request for renewables and new technology bids. The wind bids will be incorporated into the utility's integrated resource plan submitted to Public Service Commission regulators by the end of this year, says Tom Worring of MPC. The commissioners are expected to consider the plan in March of next year. A total of 40 proposals for 3796 MW were received for three separate Requests for Proposals. The proposals represent 21 supply-side bids for 3364 MW; ten demand side bids for 91 MW; and nine renewable resource/new technologies bids, says Worring.
