Denmark's installed wind power capacity has passed the 2000 MW milestone. As of the end of June, 5947 wind turbines were providing 2,008.755 MW to the country's generating capacity, reports Per Nielsen of EMD Data, a company specialising in software development for the wind industry. The 2000 MW was reached with the addition of 327 new wind turbines with a combined capacity of 238 MW between January and July, and of nearly 40 MW a month of new wind capacity. Last year a total of 516 wind turbines were sold in Denmark with a capacity of 388 MW, a record installation year. If the wind blows as expected for an average year, 13% of Denmark's electricity will come from this renewable resource in 2000.
