Windcluster Ltd -- sister company to WindProspect -- plans to repower its wind farm at Haverigg Airfield in Cumbria. Haverigg is home to five 225 kW and four 600 kW machines. The four larger machines will remain, but the company hopes to replace the ten year old smaller turbines with four 850 kW machines. Windcluster says the old turbines produce enough power for 680 homes in the area, while the new ones will power over 2000, making a major contribution to proposed Northwest regional targets for renewables. The company has lodged a planning application with Copeland Borough Council.
