Control systems specialist KK Wind Solutions has agreed to acquire Nissens Cooling Systems, a supplier of customised cooling solutions for wind and other industries.
KK Wind Solutions CEO Mauricio Quintana said the deal will “strengthen” the company’s ability to help the energy transition.
Both companies are owned by Danish conglomerate A.P. Møller Holding.
KK Wind Solutions added that the deal will help it to expand its global manufacturing presence, adding sites in the Czech Republic, China, Denmark, and Slovakia. The Danish firm will also acquire Nissens’ 80o-plus employees, swelling its own workforce to more than 3,000 people.
CEO Quintana added: “This acquisition will allow us to diversify our product range from power electronics to cooling solutions while at the same time expanding our customer base in the wind, power-to-x, and other industries.
“It will also allow us to better integrate power electronics and cooling solutions and thereby enhance the value-add while reducing complexity for our customers by offering complete system solutions within cooling, controls, and power converters.”
The deal is set to close on 1 January 2024.
