Vestas is in line to supply 33 of its 15MW turbines for a large project off South Korea being developed by oil major TotalEnergies, offshore wind developer Corio Generation and local renewables player SK ecoplant.
The developers have named the Danish firm as the preferred supplier for their 504MW Gray Whale 3 project, which is part of a 1.5GW complex planned in waters off Ulsan in the south-east of the country.
If the agreement is upgraded to a firm order and if the project goes ahead as planned, Vestas will supply 33 of its V236-15.0MW turbines to be installed on floating platforms.
