Nuclear giant Rosatom’s wind subsidiary surpasses 1GW in Russia

Russian nuclear giant Rosatom’s wind division Novawind has commissioned a project in the south-west of the country, bringing its total operational wind fleet to 1GW.

Its 60MW Trunovskaya I project is now fully operational and delivering power to the Russian grid.

A 35MW second phase is due to follow by the end of the year.

The entire complex will consist of 38 of Novawind’s wind turbines with power ratings of 2.5MW and rotor diameters of 100 metres.
