BNOW rebrands to Oceantic Network to reflect broader renewables agenda

US-based trade body the Business Network for Offshore Wind (BNOW) has rebranded to the Oceantic Network to reflect a broadening of its goals in marine renewable energy projects, including floating solar and green hyrdrogen.

Oceantic Network will focus on “all ocean-based sources of renewable power” going forward, the organisation said in a statement.

Liz Burdock, president and CEO of Oceantic Network, said the change indicated a more expansive approach to renewable energy and that it wanted to include a wider range of expertise and investment in its membership which matched the potential of the oceans for renewable energy roll-out.

“In addition to the stronger, more sustained winds over the oceans, the ocean’s waves, tides, billions of surface acreage for gathering solar power, and the awesome innovations of green hydrogen all create new possibilities for economic activity, jobs, and abundant clean energy,” she said.
