French car supplier Faurecia will buy almost all the energy produced by the 145MW Klevberget onshore wind farm in Sweden after signing a power purchase agreement (PPA) with its owner.
Faurecia, owned by automotive major Forvia, inked the 10-year PPA with Renewable Power Capital, which said the deal secured “almost all” the output from its 24-turbine wind farm located in Västernorrland County in northern Sweden.
The PPA means output from the Klevberget wind farm will now “generate the equivalent of more than 40% of all Forvia’s European plant consumption of electricity per year” according to Renewable Power Capital.
It builds on existing deals, with up to 70% of Forvia’s energy consumption now derived from renewable sources.
