Siemens Gamesa to supply 200MW Repsol wind farms in Spain

Wind turbine major Siemens Gamesa has signed deals to supply its SG 5.0-145 turbines to two onshore wind energy being developed by Spanish oil and gas giant Repsol.

The first contract covers the supply of 28 turbines to four wind farms in Palencia, northern Spain with a combined capacity of 140MW. The projects are part of Repsol's 175MW PI cluster.

Under the second deal Siemens Gamesa will send an additional 12 turbines to two wind farms with a combined capacity of 60MW. The projects are part of Repsol’s 860MW Delta II cluster in Zaragoza, in the north-east of Spain. 

The contracts cover the maintenance of all supplied turbines for six years, Siemens Gamesa stated.

All the components of the SG 5.0-145 turbines including towers, blades, and nacelles, would be made at various factories inside Spain, the company confirmed.
