It will provide 13 of its 3MW turbines with 144-metre rotors and 140-metre hub heights for a 39MW wind farm in Tamil Nadu. The 3MW turbines will be installed on hybrid lattice tubular towers.

First Energy, part of Indian energy and environmental solutions company Thermax Group, is developing the project in Thalaikattupuram, Tamil Nadu in southern India.

Suzlon is due to supply the turbines, supervise their installation and provide operations and maintenance services for the wind farm.

The wind farm is due to be commissioned in 2024.

Suzlon launched its 3MW onshore wind turbine platform exclusively in Windpower Monthly last year. The platform can be boosted to a power rating of 3.15MW and is targeted at low wind sites in Suzlon’s home market of India and elsewhere in Asia.
