Goldwind joins a small number of the largest wind manufacturing companies to pass the 100GW installed capacity milestone, including Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, and GE.
The OEM said two wind farms it is supplying — the 180MW Tanque Novo project in Brazil, and the 102MW Usak wind farm in Turkey — helped it to pass the significant threshold.
“We owe this success to our unwavering commitment to R&D and innovation, which has enabled us to continuously push the boundaries of what is possible in our projects,” the company said.
Turbines of the Year winner
Several Goldwind turbines received accolades in Windpower Monthly’s Turbines of the Year 2022, including the GWH191-4.0MW model, which won the Gold prize in the onshore turbines under 5.6MW category.
The low-wind specialist model generated “huge market interest” with over 9GW in orders, while its GWH191-6.7MW sister product that specialises in high-wind scenarios has generated over 11GW in orders worldwide.
Goldwind has supplied over 1,000 wind farms worldwide with turbines, the majority of which are in mainland China.
The company has also sold turbines to projects in Central Asia, Southern Europe, South America, plus over 20 in the US according to Windpower Intelligence, the data and research division of Windpower Monthly.
