A trio led by EDF Renewables is planning to bid for a 700MW project off the coast of Belgium in the country’s next offshore wind tender.
The French clean energy giant will partner with offshore contractor Jan de Nul and Belgian utility Luminus for the tender, which is expected to open late next year.
The project would be the first offshore wind farm auctioned from Belgium’s Princess Elisabeth zone, in which three projects are planned with a combined capacity of up to 3.5GW.
Projects in the zone would connect to an energy island to be built by Jan de Nul and Deme Group.
