McGregor replaces Gordon MacDougall and will work alongside BayWa UK's managing director John Milligan.

The developer has an onshore wind pipeline in excess of 400MW in the UK and a solar pipeline of 1.5GW, which it manages from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The company is also part of the ‘Floating Wind Allyance’ - along with Belgian offshore wind developer Elicio and floating wind firm Ideol – which has secured rights, via the ScotWind leasing round, to develop the 960MW Buchan Offshore Wind Farm.

Career path

McGregor, who studied law at the University of Aberdeen, joined BayWa in 2016 as legal counsel and project manager and later became its head of commercial before taking up her current role.

She began her career at not-for-profit infrastructure body Scottish Futures Trust, where she worked for six years and rose to the position of associate director.

Commenting on her new role, McGregor said: “I am excited to embark on a new chapter…at such a decisive time within the renewables industry.”
