Vattenfall has increased the offshore wind capacity of its Norfolk zone off the east coast of England from 3.6GW to 4.2GW.
Although it does not yet have a firm deal with a turbine supplier, improvements in turbine technology enabled the Swedish developer to increase the zone’s three projects’ – Boreas, Vanguard East and Vanguard West – capacity to 1.4GW each, a spokesman explained.
All three projects are fully permitted.
