Siemens Gamesa appoints global CTO

Morten Pilgaard Rasmussen has been appointed to the newly-created role of global chief technology officer (CTO) of Siemens Gamesa and tasked with accelerating technological standardisation across the company.

The appointment forms part of Siemens Gamesa's Mistral turnaround plan, which takes effect from January.

Rasmussen, who takes up his role in January, will become a member of the executive committee and be responsible for bringing together the onshore and offshore technology teams to develop a common way of working and find joint technology solutions.

He previously held the role of head of offshore technology at Siemens Gamesa, where he developed new products and technologies for the offshore business.

Jochen Eickholt, CEO of Siemens Gamesa - who Rasmussen will report to - said his extensive experience in R&D and leadership make him the “best candidate” for the job.
