PGE Group will build an operation and maintenance base for its offshore wind farms in Ustka harbour on Poland’s Baltic Sea coast, about 150 km west of Gdańsk. Construction work will begin in 2024, with the O&M centre expected to start operating in 2026.
As well as specialists monitoring the operation of its offshore wind farms, the O&M base will host technical facilities and storage space for service crews. There will also be a wharf for docking vessels.
Future offshore specialists will be trained at a planned Offshore Wind Energy Competence Center, also located in Ustka, where new offshore wind technologies will be tested.
PGE is developing three offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea: the 2.5GW Baltica 2 and 3 with Ørsted and the 0.9GW Baltica 1.
