Giant Australian wind farm lines up corporate PPA

Australian telecommunications firm Telstra is due to buy output from the under-construction 923MW MacIntyre wind farm in Queensland.

Telstra signed a 350 GWh/year power purchase agreement with Ark Energy, linked to MacIntyre.

Ark Energy – a subsidiary of Korea Zinc – owns a 30% stake in MacIntyre. Spanish energy giant Acciona owns the 70MW majority stake in the wind farm.

MacIntyre is due online in 2024.
