Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has secured a deal to supply 38 of its SG 5.2-145 turbines for a 192MW wind farm in Canada.
It will supply the turbines to infrastructure investors Capstone Infrastructure Corporation’s Wild Rose 2 wind farm, which is under development in Alberta.
The developer has also signed a 15-year deal with oil and gas firm Pembina Pipeline Corporation, with Pembina due to buy output from a 105MW portion of the wind farm.
Construction is due to begin later this year.
Total construction capital of the project is estimated to be about C$360 million (US$280 million).
Capstone plans to start construction in autumn and to receive the turbines in 2023.
