Acciona Energía begins construction of 1GW-plus Australian onshore wind complex

Spanish energy firm Acciona Energía has begun construction of the 1,026MW MacIntyre wind complex in Queensland, Australia.

The A$2 billion (US$1.4 billion) complex consists of two wind farms: the 923MW MacIntyre and 103MW Karara projects.

It will feature 180 of Nordex’s Delta 4000 turbines with power ratings of 5.7MW.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2024.
