Siemens Gamesa has agreed to supply 23 SG 11.0-200 DD turbines to Ørsted’s 253MW Gode Wind 3 wind farm. It will mark the first installation of the turbines in German waters. The project is under development in the North Sea, 40km north of the island of Norderney.
A preferred supplier agreement had been signed in March 2020, while the firm order also includes a five-year service agreement. The nacelles will be produced in Cuxhaven, Germany.
Marc Becker, CEO of the Siemens Gamesa offshore business unit, and managing director of Siemens Gamesa in Germany, said: “We are delighted to be working with Ørsted on the Gode Wind 3 offshore wind power plant. This project is significant as it introduces the SG 11.0-200 DD to the German market.”
The wind farm is due to be fully commissioned by 2024.
