Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has agreed to supply Renewable Energy Systems’ (RES) 100MW Hilda project.
Planned for a site in Cypress County, Alberta, it will comprise 20 of Siemens Gamesa's SG 5.0-145 turbines, operating with a flexible rating of up to 5.2 MW.
Peter Clibbon, RES's senior vice president of development, said he was “pleased to announce Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as the turbine supplier for [the] project”. Its construction is planned for 2022, with a commercial operation date of December 2022.
SGRE currently has orders exceeding 1.2GW in western Canada with the SG 4.X platform for installation through 2023.
