Goldwind has signed turbine purchase agreements (TPAs) for two wind farms in Ukraine for a total of 625.5MW, strengthening its presence in the country.

The order consists of 75 units of GW 155-4.5MW for Zophia and 60 units of GW 155-4.8MW for Ochakov. Goldwind will also service turbines at Zophia for 25 years for Emergy's Zophia and turbines at Ochakov for two years. It has not revealed the owner of the Ochakov project.
The wind turbines are compliant with local grid connection requirements, guaranteeing “maximum return on investment for the clients”, Goldwind stated.
The projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2022. Once operational, they will produce an estimated 2.2TWh/year, enough to power more than 1.1 million Ukrainian households.
As well as improving the local power supply and reducing carbon emissions, the projects are expected to boost employment, increase tax revenue and drive economic development in the region.
Goldwind said the deals will bring the company’s market share in Ukraine to exceed 20%.
