Designed for medium- to high-wind speed sites and launched in October 2020 alongside the GW165-3.6/4.0MW, it marks what the manufacturer describes as the “beginning of [its] land-based large megawatt turbines.”

The turbines feature a permanent-magnet generator and will be made available in flexible power ratings, with a range of different rotor diameters, hub sizes, tower structures and blade lengths. The longest blade will be 80.8 metres.
