Facebook has a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for output from a 139MW portion of Headwaters II. The social media company has a goal to support its operations with 100% renewable energy.

Retail giant Walmart has a long-term PPA for a 60MW portion from the same project. It also has a goal to power its operations with 100% renewable energy.

EDPR North America has 1.2GW of operational renewable energy capacity in Indiana, which represents about one third of all renewable-energy capacity installed in the state.

EDPR also announced that it has completed the sale to Onex Renewables of a 221MW wind portfolio located in Portugal for €532 million. The transaction is part of an €8 billion asset rotation programme for 2021-25.

The deal comprises five wind farms, three operational and two approaching completion. The names of the projects were not disclosed. Once completed, the wind farms will be managed by Exus Management Partners.

EDPR said earlier this week it had entered the UK onshore wind market with deals to acquire a 426MW portfolio of projects at various stages of development.
