Enercon has installed the first turbine from its EP5 platform at a wind farm in Finland.

Enercon’s EP5 platform is based on Lagerwey’s designs and features direct-drive technology. It acquired the Dutch manufacturer in 2017.

The platform also includes a variant with a 160-metre rotor and capacity of at least 4.6MW, and has a maximum hub height of 166 metres.
