Investment house Ardian and Nordic developer OX2 had originally placed an order for 53 of Nordex’s N149/4.0-4.5 turbines for their then-250MW Åndberg wind farm in Härjedalen, western Sweden.

But they have now requested 53 units of the manufacturer’s N149/5.X turbine, which it first unveiled in March 2019.

It will be the first commercial deployment of the 5MW platform, Nordex stated.

Nordex’s chief sales officer Patxi Landa explained that the N149/5.X is based technologically on the N149/4.0-4.5 model from the manufacturer’s Delta4000 platform

Ardian bought Åndberg from OX2 in February 2019. The latter will deliver the project through an engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Ardian.
