The purchase of approximately 9GW of Senvion’s onshore service portfolio, spread across 13 European countries, increases SGRE's serviced fleet to approximately 69GW globally.
Meanwhile, the acquisition of Senvion’s IP portfolio enables Siemens Gamesa to offer solutions for other OEMs, the new owner stated.
The deal was announced in October.
Siemens Gamesa’s acquisition of Senvion’s onshore blade manufacturing facility in Portugal is expected to close before the end of Q1 2020.
Senvion CEO Yves Rannou said the manufacturer had been “able to secure around 70% of all jobs at Senvion with this transaction”.
“Being able to complete this part of the transaction today is an important achievement after a prolonged and difficult period of uncertainty," he added.
