The US president had sought to halt Vattenfall's 93.2MW European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) off the east coast of Scotland, UK.
His company, Trump International Golf Club Scotland, argued the 11-turbine innovation site would ruin the views from its golf course in Aberdeenshire.
It then launched a legal challenge against the Scottish government to grant approval for the EOWDC, delaying the project being built.
But the UK Supreme Court backed the Scottish government, and the project was fully commissioned in September 2018, featuring the two largest wind turbines ever installed in a commercial project — MHI Vestas' V164 8.8MW machines.
Three judges at the Court of Sessions in Edinburgh have now ruled that Trump’s golf resort company should pay the legal bills incurred by the Scottish government.
The auditor of the Court of Sessions will now determine the precise sum due to be paid, a spokesman told Windpower Monthly.
