World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) aims to work with businesses and governments to push for the global expansion of offshore wind.
In a mission statement, its members claim they will discuss and advance policies required to deploy offshore wind.
They added that they would facilitate exchanges between companies in established markets and those in emerging markets.
The WFO will be headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, but will also have offices in Singapore.
It will also hold a Global Offshore Wind Summit in one of the offshore wind industry’s most promising markets, Taiwan, between 5 and 6 March.
Its members include vessel specialists Deme Group, foundations company EEW Special Pipe Construction, financial advisors Green Giraffe, developers E.on Climate & Renewables, Innogy and Northland Power, risk advisors March, manufacturer Suzlon Energy, the US Business Network for Offshore Wind, and law firm Watson Farley & Williams.
