Its 46.8MW Muniesa, 41.4MW Farlán, and 39.9MW San Pedro de Alacón sites are expected online by the end of 2019, the utility-developer stated.

The projects in Aragon’s Teruel province are part of the overall 540MW awarded to Enel Green Power in the tender last May in which wind projects won 2,979MW of the available capacity.

Enel Green Power has invested about €130 million in the three wind farms, it added. It has not confirmed which turbines will be used at the three sites.

The utility-developer stated it would use some "innovative" construction and monitoring practices at Muniesa, Farlán and San Pedro de Alacón.

It plans to use drones to carry out topographical surveys and "advanced" digital platforms and software solutions to monitor and remotely support site activities.

Such tools would allow for quicker, more accurate and reliable data collection and improve construction quality and communication between on-site and off-site teams, Enel Green Power added.

The company was also awarded capacity for ten other wind farms with a combined capacity of more than 250MW in Aragon in the Spanish renewables tender in May 2017.

It also won 160MW in Andalusia, Castile-León, Castile-La Mancha and Galicia.

In total, the company will invest approximately €434 million in the Aragon wind farms and about €180 million in the projects not in Aragon, it stated.

Enel Green Power currently operates 1.75GW of wind farms in Spain. This includes five projects in Galicia and Catalonia it acquired through its decision to buy developer Parques Eolicos Gestinver in February.
