It will install the turbines at Neoen’s 81MW Hedet project near the town of Nárpes in south-east Finland and 15 kilometres from the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia.
The turbines will have a power rating of 4.5MW and hub heights of 135 metres to better exploit the low-to-medium wind conditions of the site, Nordex stated.
It will shortly start creating roads and laying foundations for the turbines, and plans to install the first unit in mid-2019. The 18-turbine site will be connected to the grid that same year, the manufacturer stated.
When completed, Hedet will provide output to technology giant Google to power its data centre in Hamina in the south of the country on the shores of the Bay of Finland.
Nordex will also service the turbines for 15 years.
