It will work in tandem with DNV GL’s operations control centre in Glasgow, Scotland, to provide 24/7 monitoring services to improve performance and operational efficiencies and detection, analysis and prediction of failures.
From Karnataka, DNV GL will offer digital monitoring solutions including WindGemini, a digital tool providing turbine condition and performance analytics, and Horizon, a new monitoring platform for integrated wind, solar and energy storage systems.
Lucy Craig, vice president and director for technology and innovation at DNV GL Energy, explained: "With the increasing global penetration of wind and solar energy sources, there is a growing requirement for improved efficiency and optimisation of performance through digitalisation and dynamic control of these renewable assets."
Announcing the new Indian centre, the company also stated that it plans to introduce performance and failure analysis services to newer areas like energy storage cyber security.
