AES Argentina Generación’s Energética wind farm will be located near the port city of Bahía Blanca in Buenos Aires province and will comprise 30 AW132/3300 turbines.
Nordex will assemble the turbines and their 120-metre high concrete towers in Argentina and will provide multi-year service for the wind farm.
The Energética site is characterised by average wind speeds above 10m/s, Nordex stated.
Balance of plant work has already begun at the site, Nordex stated. On-site deliveries and installations are due to begin in Q2 2019, and commissioning is planned for Q4 2019.
AES Argentina Generación's website currently lists only hydroelectric and thermal power plants as its assets.
Argentina has 448MW of installed wind capacity, according to Windpower Intelligence, the research and data division of Windpwer Monthly.
Nordex entered the Argentinian market in November 2017 and now has 96MW installed in the country – all of which is at the La Castellana site in Buenos Aires province. It is also due to supply the 101.4MW Pomona I and 45MW Achiras sites located in the provinces of Rio Negro, to the south of Buenos Aires, and Córdoba, farther north, respectively.
