Switching to a "harmonised international brand" would help to "raise the visibility" of the energy company’s international business, Antoine Cahuzac, group executive director in charge of renewable energies, explained.

However, EDF EN’s subsidiaries in French-speaking countries are to be renamed EDF Renouvelables, while its German operations and maintenance (O&M) arm will become Reetec EDF Renewables.

Others — Eden in India, self-consumption solar branch EDF ENR Solaire, and its wind power subsidiary in France, Germany, Morocco and Italy called Futuren — will remain unchanged.

EDF Energies Nouvelles is the renewable energy division of the EDF group.
