The framework agreements include two-year basic maintenance contracts and three-year risk service — including preventive and small corrective maintenance, as well as predictive maintenance of oil use.

All wind farms subject to the agreements use Siemens Gamesa turbines, Iberdrola stated.

Vestas will be the main beneficiaries, carrying out preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance for 2,190MW of wind turbines

Siemens Gamesa, meanwhile, will maintain 1,265MW.

Iberdrola has also hired the services of Basque maintenance and energy solutions companies Ingeteam (233.3MW) and Tamoin (421MW), Galician maintenance company IM Future (218MW) and Portuguese engineering company Efacec (96.9MW).

Iberdrola awarded the contracts to the six companies for 4,425MW following a six-month tendering process.
