MidAmerican Energy CEO Bill Fehrman has been promoted to lead Berkshire Hathaway Energy, while its former vice president of gas operations Adam Wright moves up to CEO of MidAmerican.
Wright previously oversaw MidAmerican's wind fleet from 2012 to 2015, according to the developer.
Fehrman, who spent ten years as CEO of MidAmerican, replaces Greg Abel at the parent company.
Abel has moved up to the lead Berkshire Hathaway's non-insurance business, and joined the company's board of directors in a move group CEO Warren Buffet said was "part of a movement to succession over time".
MidAmerican serves 760,000 electricity customers in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and South Dakota. It has plans to provide its customers with 100% renewable energy.
To date, MidAmerican has developed more than 3.5GW of wind capacity and is currently building the 2GW Wind XI complex in Iowa, to be powered by Vestas turbines.
