Vestas will provide 125 of its V110-2.0MW turbines (above) for the project in Kutch in India's westernmost state, Gujarat

The 250MW turnkey order is the manufacturer’s largest in the country to date and takes its order intake in the market this year to more than 480MW, Vestas stated.

It will deliver, install and commission the turbines to Kutch district, which borders Pakistan.

Project owner Ostro Energy was awarded the capacity through India’s first reverse bidding auction, which was held in February.

It has since placed an order for 125 of Vestas’ V110-2.0MW turbines. Commissioning is expected by the third quarter of 2018.

When completed, the project would take Ostro Energy past the 1GW capacity milestone, the company stated.
