Its Swedish subsidiary, Peikko Sverige, will deliver its "rebar coupling, punching and shear reinforcement systems" for the first 16 foundations of the site’s first phase.
Deliveries to the project, situated west of the northern city of Pitea, are scheduled to take place by the end of the year, Peikko stated.
The project’s main contractor NCC Sverige, will install the foundations at the three-phase, 179-turbine site.
Markbygden is due to be operational by the end of 2019 and could be one of Europe’s largest onshore wind sites when completed.
It will use GE’s 3.6-137 turbines and is also part of a cluster of projects that could eventually comprise a total of 1,101 turbines, developer Svevind said.
Svevind advanced the site over a 15-year period before it was acquired by a joint venture (JV) of the rebranded Green Investment Group (GIG) and GE Renewable Energy for approximately €800 million in November.
The investment was the GIG’s first since being bought by Australian investment firm Macquarie.
