SGRE wins 258MW order in Thailand

THAILAND: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) will provide the tallest wind turbines in Asia after securing a 103-unit order for the Hanuman wind complex in Chaiyaphum province, north-east Thailand.

SGRE's G126-2.5MW turbines will be installed on 135-metre towers at the Hanuman wind project

The G-126-2.5MW turbines will be installed on 153-metre towers for a tip height of 215 metres.

The turbines will be delivered in May 2018, with commissioning expected by the end of the year. SGRE will operate and maintain the project.

The deal is SGRE's fourth in Thailand, where it claims 310MW of installed capacity.

SGRE has deployed the 153-metre tower in the country before, but with the shorter-bladed G114-2.0MW turbines.
